Something About Parades and Raining...

Do you ever feel like you're a failure at EVERYTHING you do? I mean, completely worthless?

I feel like I have so much and don't know how to give.

Midnight Sun-The Leaked 12 Chapters

I read them. Shame, shame shame.... I'm totally okay with it. With myself. I've done worse things in my life.

Anyway, I REALLY liked it. The only thing:

The scene where Edward and Emmett do their little role play for Ben Cheney so Edward feels like he's repaid Angela for her kindness to Bella is really cute and funny (laughed out loud), but I didn't buy that Edward would really do that...

Thoughts?

Westates Theatres

I'm having trouble lodging a complaint to people who really care. So maybe someone high up with Westates will google and find this...

I live in Cedar City, Utah. There are 2 movie theatres in town, both Westates. I have encountered a problem with both theatres that I would like to address.

The issue I have has to do with previews. Most of the time, I get only one preview before a movie at these theatres. I love previews. It's part of the movie-going experience for me. I feel I've been jipped when I get only one preview. I went to see Prince Caspian back in May-NOT ONE PREVIEW. Movie just stated! Today at The Dark Knight there was literally 1 & 1/2 previews-half of one preview and then one more full preview. I looked up what previews would be showing before The Dark Knight, and it looks like there should have been 3 previews. (I tried to reach some of the major studios about this)

I'm sure that someone would be in some kind of trouble if studios and distributors thought that these theatres didn't want to show all the previews because of the length of the movie or trying to get the next crowd in more quickly...

Li'l bi' o' life

I haven't posted in a while, so as I was cleaning out the pics on my phone, I decided to post some of them that would tell a nice story of the things recently:

This is me and my niece, Aly. I took her and her brother/my nephew, Chad, to Vegas a few weeks ago to celebrate her graduating from college and Chad graduating from high school. This was our second night. We stayed at the Stratosphere, which is also where a very cool dance club is called Polly Esther's. Here we are on our way downstairs to the club. (We had to leave Chad in the room, cause he only be 18) We had a blast and closed the place down. It was Aly's first time in a club like that. She was like a baby lamb amongst ravenous wolves. I had to protect her from guys wanting to grind, being the more experienced, jaded Vegas clubber...haha.

This is Chad. We were in the room, and he is crouching out of extreme laughter and disgust, probably because I said something extremely funny and disgusting. I should add that Chad wasn't offended in any way. He was just trying to recover. Oh, and he worships the ground I walk on.

This is Timothy (5) and Ada (3). They are asleep in my bed. They'd both sneaked in at different points during the night to climb into bed with me. This is the kind of picture that makes it all worth it, you know?

Ada and Timothy again. We were at the worst mall in existence (in St. George, Utah) at the food court having the worst "Chinese" food in existence. Ada has been doing her overkill smile alot lately in pictures.

This is me. Believe it or not. Ada took it in that moment in between smiles and telling her to hurry up and take the picture. Definitely in the top 5 worst pictures of Pamela Ashley Wilkinson Neves. Posted it to show that I have a sense of humor. Hopefully, that gives me points with all y'all.

Ada's sense of humor. That's a balloon up her nose.

My beautiful Ada.

The Godfather of Goth

So, I left yesterday for Vegas all by my lonesome to go see one of my top 5 favorite singers. He played about half of the Deep album. A few Bauhaus numbers. NOTHING from Love Hysteria! No Indigo Eyes or All Night Long. Sadness for me. But, oh, how happy I was. Oh, so happy. He was graceful and close to emotionless. No coffins or hearses. Just Peter. But I would not be surprised in the slightest if someone told me he was one of the Volturi.

No cameras were allowed, but I got away with taking pics with my phone.

A Strange Kind of Love

I am going to see this amazing, incredible, undead man (former Bauhaus frontman) this weekend in Vegas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's going to be at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Nice, small venue, so I'll be standing, which is awesome, cause then I can dance. And, boy, can I break it down!
I was introduced to Peter Murphy in high school. Deep was the first album I ever heard. One listen, and I was hooked.
Truly? I just might be the luckiest girl in the world...

80's Song/Video of the Week: Week 5-The Motels - Only the Lonely

I loved this video so much when I was a kid. I love the way Martha Davis moved her lips and tongue when she sang (not that I'm gay or anything-I'm not proud of it, and I'm not ashamed of it, either). This is an incredible song that I truly never get tired of. I really love Suddenly Last Summer as well (song more than the video), which you can find below the video.

This link will take you to the video promoting the new season of Last Comic Standing. My best friend from high school is the blonde drag queen at 59 seconds. His name is Chris Whatley, a.k.a., Anita Bump.

80's Song/Video of the Week: Week 4, Part 1-Human League - Don't You Want Me

I chose 2 vids for this week, not only because I love both of them, but because they both kinda sound that same at the beginning of each song. When I was a little girl I LOVED the "She's a Beauty" video. I also thought the 2 Human League girls were absolutley beautiful.
"Don't You Want Me"-1981
"She's a Beauty"-1983

Mother's Day Sentiments

In church yesterday, my kids each did a questionaire about me. They were given the beginning of the sentence and had to finish it. Ada lost hers before it got to me, but here are the other kids':

Timothy's
My mother is as pretty as she is.

She weighs ______ pounds and she's ______ tall. (He didn't attempt that)

Her favorite food is spaghetti.

My mother loves me best when I do the things she wants me to do.

I like being with my Mom most when I'm at home.

In the good old days when Mom was little she used to _____________.

My favorite thing about my Mother is loving her.

If I could get my Mother something special just from me it would be a flower.

I wouldn't trade my Mother for nothing.

Emma's
My Mom is as pretty as candy.

She weighs ______ pounds and she's ______ tall.

Her favorite food is Itallyen food.

My Mother loves me best when I'm asleep.

I like being with my Mother when we're at Disneyland.

In the good old days when Mom was little she used to eat crawfish.

My favorite thing about my Mother is how much she love me.

If I could get my Mother something special just from me it would be Disneyland Passes.

I wouldn't trade my Mother for Disneyland.

Hana's
My Mom is as pretty as Me.

She weighs 120 pounds and she's 5'8" tall. (Although I'd love to be that skinny, I'd probably be dead, and I'm 5'10")

Her favorite food is chocolate.

I like being with my Mother most when she is happy.

In the good old days when Mom was little she does love her mom.

My favorite thing about my Mother is her kindness.

I wouldn't trade my mother for anything.

Not too bad, I guess, except for the comment from Emma about how I only love her when she's sleeping, and Hana's about liking me the most when I'm happy, which is maybe 50% of the time...

80's Song/Video of the Week: Week 3- M - Pop Muzik

Although this video actually came out in 1979, it is an early 80's video through and through-electronic sound, white background, cheap sets, and bad choreography. The backup singer parts (girl in blue top) are particularly fun. There's a love/hate relationship with her: you wanna punch her in the face, but can't help boppin' your neck with her.

The JOYS of being a SAHM

I have to sleep a lot. It's my thyroid still. Not figured out yet. After I get my older girls off to school, I'm fried. I eat something, try to stay awake for a while, then I crash for a mid-morning coma.

The past few mornings, I have awoken to disasters c/o my 2 younger ones. I'm not surprised at all. What 3 and 5 years olds wouldn't get into mischief while mom is out?

This morning it was a can of store bought frosting on the floor, on the couch, and almost completely covering Ada. Yesterday morning it was chocolates that I'd poorly hidden (and Ada is allergic to chocolate). The morning before that it was bowls of milk on the kitchen floor (I'm sure they were pretending they were cats) and the two of them kicking back on the couch with cans of coke.

Let's evaluate these incidents:

1. Store bought frosting...why does anyone buy this crap anyway?

2. Chocolates...I hid them poorly with a child in my house that is allergic??!!!!!

3. Bowls of milk...nothing, I guess, could have stopped this act as everyone does this at least once in their childhood.

4. Coke...I used to think that only awesome people had coke in their house; I mean, what beverage goes better with chips and guac or The Half-Blood Prince? Now that my kids are drinking it with abandon, I feel like I'm on the road to Hell.

We can break these down even further. Watch:

1. Bad shopper/Lazy cake-maker

2. Apathetic

3. ?

4. Selfish

Taking it down another level:

1. Loser

2. Loser

3. ?

4. Horrible mother

And one more:

1. Son of Perdition

2. Great and Abominable Whore

3. ?

4. Anti-Christ

or, I have a health problem and my kids are just being kids...

Photo Contest

My sister-in-law, Lara, is on the verge of winning a $1,000 prize for this picture at the following website. They desperately need it to be able to send her husband, Joel, to a very important conducting competition in Spain (which will mean a lot for his budding career regardless of the outcome). I would love it if you could go to the link below and vote for this pic. The voting happens at the end of all photos.

They just don't believe it when I say they're tired!

80's Song/Video of the Week: Week 2-Nik Kershaw - Wouldn't it be good

Again, this has that wonderful ethereal feel that 80's new wave can have. This was out in 1984-the best year for music and videos in the 80's. Of course, this video seems hokey nowadays compared to the mini major motion pictures on MTV now. If you want to see something embarrassing, watch Nik Kershaw's performance of this song on the Italina pop show, Discoring.

80's Song/Video of the Week: Week 1-Peter Schilling - Major Tom

Embodiment of the 80's new wave sound and the ethereal feel that I love. I almost can't listen to this song too many times. 1983

Emma's Stories

In case you can't read it:
My Story of Stupid People (with Emma's spellings)
Stupid people are weird. Sometimes there ugly. And sometimes there just plane dumb. Stupid people like to watch the baby chanl. Sometimes stupid people like to make themselves throw up And then eat it. Then they throw up again And then they go watch the baby chanl. Once and a while they watch not stupid people and write notes. When there making themselves throw up there mom says "ewwww." Then she throws up. When there dad see them throw up he says "cool".
